Eamonn Mac Memorial Cycle - 29 September
Eamonn McLoughlin died tragically of colon cancer at the age of 46 and his family and enthusiastic friends, decided to organise a fundraising cycle in his honour, from Dunmanway, where he had many fond memories to the family home in Kilworth. The first year that Eamonn’s family did the event (2006), there were only four cyclists, since then the event has gone from strength to strength with 200 cyclists anticipated for 2012. The Eamonn Mac Memorial Cycle is a thoroughly enjoyable day out and has been a very successful event in the past raising over €90,000 for the Cork Cancer Research Centre.
This 100k event will start on the outskirts of Dunmanway at Fnalobbus House, Dunmanway, Co. Cork on Saturday 29th September 2012 at 10.30 a.m., with the route going through Ballineen, Bandon, Innishannon, The Viaduct (lunch stop), Cork City, Watergrasshill, Rathcormac, Fermoy, McLoughlin home in Kilworth.
