Professor Gögenur started as professor at Department of Surgery, Zealand University Hospital in May 2014. His interests include the development and implementation of new surgical treatments and his primary research focus is on surgical pathophysiology and personalized medicine. He is the founder and leader of Center for Surgical Science. He has published more than 300 peer reviewed papers in national and international medical journals and written several book chapters. The ongoing PhD studies within his group is focusing on the exploration of perioperative interventions that may improve the patient’s immune function prior to surgery resulting in improved long term oncological outcomes.
