These foods are high in fats and/or added sugars and/or low in fibre. These foods are high in calories and generally low in nutrients. They are also very tasty and this means they are easy to over eat.  Processed foods are usually low in satiety, meaning they don’t fill you up so you are hungry again very soon. This leads to an overconsumption of calories and weight gain. These foods can be enjoyed in moderation, as part of a balanced diet of appropriate calories.
