Sophie O'Sullivan releases 'It's Christmas Day' in Aid of Cancer Research

Sophie O'Sullivan has recorded her own christmas single which she will launch in the Oliver Plunkett Bar on Wednesday, 23rd November at 8:30pm. On the night there will be a surprise guest artist as well as a raffle.

“My name is Sophie O’ Sullivan I am 2nd year Commerce student in UCC, who has family members bravely fighting cancer at the moment, with huge support from family and friends and a great team at CUH under Prof. Seamus O’ Reilly.

Last year my father wrote a Christmas poem, that I thought would make a lovely Christmas song.I suggested to Dad that we should look at recording it.I approached Wayne Sheehy of Ocean Studio's in Bantry who has worked and performed with alot of recognised artists. He was delighted to help and thus produced the music for this song called "Its Christmas Day".
The work done by all the scientists at the Cork Cancer Research Centre, are phenomenal, so I decided I would love to raise funds for research and clinical testing of new drugs to hopefully find cures for cancer.

Paul Montgomery of the Oliver Plunkett Bar has kindly given use of  free of charge on the night.”

The single is available to purchase here.
