Routes

This year, we have 3 routes available to suit a variety of needs, abilities and interests! We are delighted to introduce a shorter 5km Route to welcome more walkers to join us and help fund vital cancer research programmes by supportering our annual Cancer Research Fundraising Walk!

Please note, all routes will start and finish from the same location, where parking will be available on a first come first serve basis. It is important you select your route in advance and ensure you register for the correct distance so you are placed in the right group.  Please see route maps and information below and if you have any further questions about the routes or distances, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 021 4226655 / jesse@breakcancer.ie.

5km Short Route

This year, we are delighted to offer a shorter 5km route to allow a 'fun for all' option!

Route Map

While the route is a shorter option that allows greater participation for more abilities, please note it is still a hike style walk which requires all participants to walk and includes some steps and uneven ground. This route does not allow for buggies or wheelchairs.

For those with children: sections of this route are near to small 'cliff' edges and limited on-road walking. It is your responsbility to ensure you're children are supervised and kept with an adult at all times. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 years old.

10km Medium Route

Our medium route will return as a 10km easy-medium walk for those more more enthusastic walkers.

Route Map

Due to the longer distance and slightly rougher terrain, the minimum age for this route is 14 years old, and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

This route starts through the same wooded and flower path as the 5km route, enjoying amazing views over the small cliffs to the sea, before turning off and enjoying not one, but two beautiful beachs.

Around the middle point of the walk, we will have a water and snack rest stop for all walkers doing the 10km route.

Terrain for this route includes paths, fields, beachs and some road walking. Please note there will be uneven ground and some steps required.

22km Long Route

Our long route will be a 22km path and road walking route which is a more challenging walk for those more experienced and able walkers.

Route Map

Due to the longer distance and slightly rougher terrain, the minimum age for this route is 16 years old. This route starts through the same wooded and flower path as the 5km route, enjoying amazing views over the small cliffs to the sea, before turning off with the 10km route and enjoying not one, but two beautiful beachs. The long walk will then continue between back roads and off road pathways, taking in some amazing views of the area and the sea.

This route will have two rest stops available offering water and snacks to keep walkers hydrated and energized!
